BioArctic Neuroscience AB performs research to develop new treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. The company's research strategy is based on previous research done at the Karolinska Institute and Uppsala University and is aimed at developing an antibody against Alzheimer's disease and new ultra sensitive diagnostics for the disease. The company cooperates since 2005 with Eisai Co. Japan, who has developed the world's leading drug for Alzheimer's disease. The objective of the collaboration is to bring BioArctic's lead drug candidate BAN2401 to the world market. Clinical trials are planned to start within two years. BioArctic Neuroscience was founded in 2003 and is privately owned.
